D’Angelo Vineyards Estate Winery is situated on 50 acres in Amherstburg, Ontario. The vineyard consisting of 42 acres grows only French Viniferas and Hybrids. The varieties we grow are Cabernet Franc, Marechal Foch, Baco Noir, Pinot Noir and Chambourcin for the reds, Vidal and Chardonnay for the whites. Since the first vintage in 1989, the winery has won almost one hundred awards and medals for our wines. Our flagship wines would have to be our Old Vines Foch Reserve, Cabernet Franc and our Icewine. D’Angelo Vineyards Estate Winery holds the distinction of being the only winery to win back to back gold medals for Icewine at the Cuvee. Our winemaker and President, Sal D’Angelo won the 1999 Grape King of Ontario award, a very prestigious award, recognizing the tremendous efforts in the vineyard. We produce up to 5000 cases of wine per year. As for our barrels, we use French Oak and American Oak. Each barrel holds between 200 and 220 litres. At the present time we have 49 barrels that are in constant use. It is almost 10,000 litres of wine in oak. We are open all year round. Tastings and tours are available daily, but we ask that larger groups call ahead for an appointment.
